Etymology:

linnaei = Carl Linnaeus (*1707 – †1778), also known after his ennoblement as Carl von Linné was a Swedish botanist, zoologist, taxonomist, and physician who formalised binomial nomenclature, the modern system of naming organisms. He is known as the "father of modern taxonomy".

Origin: Venezuela to Surinam und French Guiana, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru
Habitat:

Philodendron linnaei is widely distributed in the northern Amazon basin. The species grows at altitudes of 100-250m, in the highlands of French Guiana, Suriname and Peru Philodendron. linnaei is also found at altitudes up to 500m. It is mostly found growing terrestrially in the undergrowth of forests and roadsides.

Notes:

Philodendron linnaei has a unique growth characteristic in that the species intermittenly produces a series of short thick internodes with leaves arranged in tight rosettes. The plant then continues to grow in producing long, slender, leafless internodes, followed by another rosette.
