Etymology:	ciliatus = with small hairs
Propagation:	seed
Origin:	Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador
Habitat:	terrestrial in the shade under bushes or lithphytic on rocky soils in river gorges or on rotting tree stumps at altitudes from 1000 to 2800m.
Notes:	longlasting, waxy, large, green flowers with apple or honey scent. Lycaste ciliata can flower with more than 5 flowers at the same time after a short cultivation period.
