Habitat: | epiphytic in warm and humid mountain forests, at altitudes up to 800m. Lycaste powellii is said to have been found very frequently around the Panama Canal. |
Notes: | Lycaste powellii bears numerous, short (up to 15cm) inflorescence stems per pseudobulb, which bear single, terminal, fragrant flowers. The flowers are also long-lasting for the genus Lycaste. |
