mordax = biting, because of the fierce appearance of the flower

Origin: Colombia
Habitat:

epiphytic on mossy, thin branches in the departments of Antioquia and Cauca at altitudes from 1700 to 2400 meters

Notes:

Porroglossum mordax has 10-15cm long, upright growing inflorescence stems, at the end of which a few flowers of 8-12mm size successively occur seasonally independent.
