Product information "Philodendron pastazanum cf."
Name: Philodendron pastazanum cf., K. Krause 1940
Synonyms:

not known

Etymology:

pastazanum = after the locality where the plant was origianlly disovered. Either the province Pastaza in Ecuador, which is located in the part of Ecuador called Oriente in the Amazon basin, or after the river Pastaza, a tributary of the Amazon, which gives the province its name....

Propagation: division
Origin: Ecuador, Peru
Habitat:

Philodenron pastazanum grows endemically in the eastern part of Ecuador and Peru and is mostly found at elevations between 300 and 860 meters. The species also grows creeping on the ground in these areas along valleys and cliffs by streams, and in moist, sparse rainforests.  The plant is also common and easy to find along roadsides in this area.

Notes:

While most Philodendron species develop the most beautiful leaf coloration when the leaves are young, this is exactly the opposite with Philodendron pastazanum. The large leaves, wavy between the distinct veins, show a beautiful coloration in blue-green and green when being mature, depending on the incidence of light. In well-cultivated plants, a fascination that is hard to resist.
