Habitat: | Tillandsia seleriana grows epiphytically on pine and oak trees in areas with low rainfall, mostly towards the Pacific coast at an altitude of 270-2100m. |
Notes: | This species is a so-called myrmecophyte, in its natural environment, the onion-like base of the plant serves as a shelter for tropical ants. In return, the ants protect the Tillandsia seleriana and provide it with important nutrients. |
