bowringiana = John Charles BOWRING (24. March 1821 – 20. June 1893), engl. hobby botanist and entomologist (more specifically a coleopterist)

Habitat:

lithophyte found at elevations of 210 to 900 meters on rocky cliffs near fast moving streams in a humid atmosphere

Notes:

Cattleya bowringiana can grow up to 1m high, it bears terminal flower clusters with +12 flowers, which can reach an individual size of >9cm. The flowering period under optimal conditions can be 3-4 weeks.
