Etymology:

gustavi = Gustav Wallis (* May 1, 1830 in Lüneburg - † July 20, 1878 in Cuenca, Ecuador) was a German botanist.

Origin: Colombia
Habitat:

epiphytic, along the Pacific coast of the "Llanura del Caribe" at altitudes of 100-500, in very warm and humid tropical forests.

Notes:

Anthurium gustavii was found in 1867 or 1868 by Gustav Wallis in the El Choco area in Colombia, from there the plant came to Regel, then head of the Botanical Garden of St. Petersburg, who soon described it, but published it only in 1882 in the Gartenflora (counterpart to the Gardeners' Chronicle).
With the velvety and impressive leaves a very beautiful Anthurium.
