superbiens = outstanding
in Guatemala = La Vara De Senor San Jose [the Wand of St. Joseph]
in Mexico = Flor de la Candelaria or Tanal

Propagation: seed
Origin: Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua
Habitat:

epiphytic in open or damp forests on trees or the rocks below them in mountains of the Sierra Madre de Chiapas at altitudes of 800 to 2000 meters

Notes:

Schomburgkia superbiens (formerly Laelia superbiens) is a very large plant, also very heavy when old. Can stay well outdoors in summer, in winter can be kept cool and dry.
Flower stalks can grow several meters long, the flowers have a very pleasant scent.
