Product information "Doritis braceana"
Name: Phalaenopsis braceana, (Hook. f.) Christenson 1986
Synonyms:

Biermannia naviculare, Tang & Wang 1997
Doritis braceana, Hook. f. 1890
Kingidium braceanum, (Hook.f.) Seidenfaden 1988
Kingidium naviculare, Tsi ex Hashim 1984

Etymology:

braceanus = Brace's Phalaenopsis [Orchid Illustrator 1800's]
In China = 小尖囊蝴蝶兰 xiao jian nang hu die lan (as Doritis taenialis)

Propagation: seed
Origin: Southeast Asia
Habitat:

epiphytic on moist forest edges at altitudes from 1100 to 2100 meters

Notes:

very unclear species. The plants offered here originate from a seed pod imported from the Philippines. The offspring turn out homogeneous, which should be considered as evidence for the purity of a species. They differ clearly from plants of the same name from China, Thailand, India, Bhutan and other Southeast Asian countries.
Since the location of the type of Phalaenopsis (Kingidium or Doritis) braceana is given as Bhutan and Himalaya, the question remains, was the location deliberately misstated at the time (which was not uncommon) or is it an undescribed species.
The lip structure with the sac-like mentum points quite strongly to the affiliation with the genus Kingidium, as does the number of pollinia. Christenson's inclusion in the genus Phalaenospsis is questionable.
