Name: | Philodendron longilaminatum, Schott 1862 |
Synonyms: | not known |
Etymology: | longilaminatum: longus = long, laminatus = covered with scales |
Propagation: | division |
Origin: | Brasil |
Habitat: | There is unfortunately not much information to be found about Philodendron longilaminatum. The main occurrence is in the state of Espirito Santu at sea level on the coast. On the herbarium sheet K000303228 Royal Botanic Gardens Kew from 1 June 1991 the following information can be found: "On rotting crowns of fallen Balata tree (Manikara bidentata), in a 4 year old cacao plantation with young cacao and bananas for shade." |
Notes: | The plant should be cultivated in hanging baskets or pots. The short internodes create densely leafy bushes, which have a brilliant appearance due to the long narrow leaves. |
