Etymology: | Philodendron lynnhannoniae = The species is named for the late Lynn Peters Hannon, who collected plants in South America with Ted Croat for about a decade. Lynn Hannon was an artist, a sculptor, who became interested in Araceae and built a large collection on her property near Odessa, Florida. |

Notes: | Philodendron lynnhannoniae is an extremely attractive plant, the wrinkled texture of the leaf surface is not only exciting, but shows that this species, which occurs in dark locations, has optimally adapted to its growing conditions. The rounded surface of each "wrinkle" increases the ability to collect the light very effectively. The surface of the leaf is of double size and due to the wrinkles it is reflect in an angle that it can be used for photosynthesis. |
