Name: | Anthurium dolichostachyum, Sodiro 1901 |
Synonyms: | Anthurium angamarcanum, Sodiro 1903 |
Etymology: | dolichostachyum = possessing a long inflorescence |
Propagation: | division |
Origin: | Ecuador |
Habitat: | grows predominantly terrestrially in warm, moist rainforest along the Pacific Andes at elevations of 300-1500m. |
Notes: | The classification of Anthurium dolichostachyum is very difficult. On the one hand Sodiro described this species under 6 different synonyms, partly in the same year. The available herbarium material allows the assumption that it can be more than one species. This is contradicted by the strongly changing appearance with increasing age of the plant. Also the distribution seems to be over a larger area, which can be either local variants, but also independent species. |
