Product information "Monstera epipremnoides 'Esqueleto'"
Name: Monstera epipremnoides, Engler 1905. 'Esqueleto'
Synonyms:

not known

Etymology:

epipremnoides = looks like Epipremnum (probably referring to Epipremnum pinnatum, which has equally strongly pinnate foliage).

Propagation: meristem
Origin: Costa Rica
Habitat:

epiphytic climbing, in humid tropical forests of Santa Maria de Dota at 1300m altitude, in La Uruca around 1200m altitude.

Notes:

Monstera epipremnoides was described by Engler on the basis of a plant found in flower in Costa Rica in 1890. This species is often confused with Monstera dissecta syn. Monstera dilacerata, which however occurs in completely different areas and only up to 1000m altitude. Likewise, alleged finds outside Costa Rica have always turned out to be a different species other than Monstera epipremnoides..
The cultivar 'Esqueleto' (engl. The Skeleton) is a particularly exciting plant, which is feathery and appears like a living plant skeleton. With this bizarre appearance, it is a very popular variety that is sought after for many collections.
