brownii = perhaps after Robert BROWN (*21 December 1773, † 10 June 1858), Scottish physician and an eminent botanist.

Habitat:

The species is distributed from Costa Rica to Panama and along the Pacific Andean slopes of Colombia and occurs in the humid forest, tropical humid forest and m transition to premontane forest hemiepiphytic and terrestrial growing from sea level to 1200 m altitude.

Notes:

Anthurium brownii can bear inflorescences and seed pods at the same time. Anthurium brownii is very variable and changes the shape of the leaves with age. In the pictures are leaves of young plants on the left, the leaves on the right half are from 2 year old plants.
