Product information "Philodendron undulatum"
Name: Philodendron undulatum, Engler 1879
Synonyms:

Baursea eichleri, (Engl.) Kuntze 1903
Philodendron eichleri, Engl. 1899
Philodendron petraeum var. tobatiense, Chodat & Vischer 1919, publ. 1920
Thaumatophyllum undulatum, (Engl.) Sakur., Calazans & Mayo 2018

Etymology:

undulatus = undulate, wavy at the edges

Propagation: divisions
Origin: Bolivia, Brasil, Argentinia, Paraguay
Habitat:

Unfortunately, there is very little confirmed information available: Philodendron undulatum is described as growing epiphytically, hemiepiphytically, and lithophytically. In Paraguay and Brazil it has been found growing in swamps, or thriving in moist, swampy forests. However, in Cordillera de Altos of Paraguay it is also described as lithophytic and growing much drier.

Notes:

The species is called 'Guembé' or 'Guembé espinoso' in Argentina, and 'Imbe de flor vermelha' in Brazil.
The genus Thaumatophyllum was established in 1859 by Heinrich Wilhelm Schott with Thaumatophyllum spruceanum as the sole species. In 1962 Thaumatophyllum spruceanum was transferred to the genus Philodendron by G.M. Barroso. Due to formal errors this transfer is invalid. A series of phylogenetic studies starting in 2018 led to a reassignment of the genus Thaumatophyllum to the rank of genus. Currently, 21 species that formerly belonged to the Philodendron section Meconostigma now belong to the genus Thaumatophyllum. According to the available information, this transfer was recognized only by KEW.
