Product information "Anthurium rugulosum 'Chocolate'"
Name: Anthurium rugulosum, Sodiro 1902
Synonyms:

unknown

Etymology:

rugolosus = slightly wrinkled

Propagation: division
Origin: Ecuador
Habitat:

Anthurium rugulosum is endemic to Ecuador in the eastern Andes at elevations of 1100-2800m in moist and wet tropical forest and in high elevation cloud forest.

Notes:

Anthurium rugulosum must not be kept too warm. The reason is explained by the U.S. American Denis Rotolante, who cultivates many aroids very successfully: "These plants dissimilate more sugar during a warm night than they produce during photosynthesis in daylight. This leads to a lack of stored carbohydrates needed for growth and flowering. This contributes to a lack of vigour and leads to weak, disease-prone plants that do not flower, fruit or thrive"
