| Notes: | The species grows as a thick-stemmed epiphyte, but also occurs as a terrestrial vine and can be found along roadsides. Philodendron deflexum is often found close to ant nests. In woodland, the smooth, long drooping roots are a conspicuous feature of the species. In young plants, the swollen base of the petioles is unusually soft, and the petioles of mature plants are also moderately spongy. |
