Notes: | Philodendron rugapetiolatum was first collected by Édouard François André (1840-1911), a late 19th century French landscape architect and horticulturist who was collecting in the northern Andes. He named his collection of this species Philodendron altaquerese, most likely after the town of Altaquer in Colombia where he first found the plant. In 2016, Tom Croat and M.M.Mora. In: Aroideana 39: 210 validly described the species as Philodendron rugapetiolatum. |
